I really hate how they tell you the amount of time to cook it for but REFUSE to tell you what effing temperature to cook it at. 4 minutes means nothing

I know this is super late but Guga I took a on sale NY strip and turned it into THE BEST steak I ever made using this video as a guide. Super simple but the butter and oil combo made such a huge difference than straight butter. 100% thank you so much for this made my cast iron skillet my favorite steak tool.

let the steak sit out for 20 mins salt it Do not add anything but salt to the steak oil your pan let the oil get hot place the steak in the pan but do not move it 4 mins brown then flip it once the steak is golden brown Important > Let it rest for 5 to 8 mins now seasoned it & cut it & enjoy 🙂
I cooked it exactly like this and it came out tender and juicy. I'm always cooking my steak like this from now on.

Thanku so much for this.. I am completely new to cooking steak and i only have a cast iron skillet. Almost all the videos i found were using an oven at some point of the cooking and I was starting to wonder whether an oven is an absolute necessity for cooking steak!! This clearifies that it's not the case👍🏽
Tbh I had my doubts, with the 4 minutes total for a piece of meat that thick, but it turned out perfect medium rare with a nice crust in the cast iron. Tanks Guga!
