That appears to be a 300ci in line six cylinder. If so, I would keep it just the way it is.

Something about that FORD BLUE that just hits every time. Great looking truck. Excellent work fellas, I'm sure Pops shed a tear or two when he saw the finished product. RIP to his Son too.

I would put a rebuilt Inline 300 six in it, with a automatic transmission... they were some of the most reliable motors made.

My Dream truck, right there. Same colour, stick shift, even the rim's. I Hope it gets to live another life, loved by it's new Driver the Way his Son obviously loved it. And me I'd Probably be happy with a 351 5spd. RIP for his Son🙏💔😢

The 300 is a great engine. But the fact that it was in there when the Son had it is the best reason to keep it.

1992. Refresh year from the 87-91. My Dad bought a 1987 F150 XLT-LARIAT 4x4 New with the 5.0 engine with 3 Speed automatic. 2 Tone, Blue/Gray as his Retirement Gift. Dad now in his Late 90s still has his Truck that he has Cherished all these years treating it Like a Lincoln. Always Garaged, Never seen Snow & still in incredible condition with No Rust at all. To Date as of 2026 Dad's 1987 Ford has 67.000 miles
