Gas in 1926 was about 0.12 to .25 cents per gallon and it was steady for several decades with out an increase. I am 45 and I personally remember the gas wars in the 80's and 90's in the midwest they were .65- .90 cents per gallon. Now I am in the PNW and today gas is $5.19 for 89 gas. and diesel is over $6.00 a gallon
