Does it matter if the 2 cylinders merge into a thick exhaust pipe with the same cross section area as the two exhaust headers (maybe slightly more if designed intelligently) & then split into two smaller paths at the tail pipe? I would assume it doesn't (maybe even better) as the flow will have the same constriction as both exhaust headers combined, but the cylinders fire & exhale at different strokes/times, so there is a time differential & actually each cylinder has twice the cross sectional area as individual pipes. Of course, I'm no expert, just an engineer using basic logic, so maybe an engine tuning expert can correct me if I'm wrong.

They should place 8 exhaust pipes at the backβ¦so we have one coming from engine and then we split this into 8! Genius.
Most quad pipes are Y's from a muffler or weld right at exit. It doesn't make it louder too. True quads would come from the headers on back but that makes no sense.
