I used to think: More study hours = better grades.

Education

But in reality? You can study for hours and still feel like your grades are not improving. You are tired, yes. But did you actually understand the material? Not always. Hi, I’m Becky 👋 I’m a junior student with an average score of 92. I work out regularly, join clubs and competitions, and also create content on the side. But I’m not the kind of person who studies for endless hours every day. What changed my grades was not studying longer. It was learning how to study smarter. Because honestly, many students are still using methods like: ❌ Reading the same notes again and again ❌ Highlighting almost everything in different colors ❌ Memorizing notes from start to finish What helped me the most was Active Recall. Here’s how I use it: 1️⃣ Make an outline Close your book and take out a blank piece of paper. Write down the topic and 3–5 key points you can remember. This helps you check whether you actually understand the overall structure. 2️⃣ Explain it again Pick one concept. Then explain it in the simplest words possible, like you are teaching a friend. If you get stuck halfway, that is the part you need to review again. 3️⃣ Practice in different situations Don’t only do questions that look exactly the same. Try to find or create different types of questions. That is how your brain learns to understand the concept, not just memorize the answer. One thing I learned is: ❌ It’s not about who studies until midnight. ✅ It’s about who tests their knowledge more often until they truly understand it. And if you don’t know where to start, I sometimes use tools like Oreate.ai to help me study. It helps me: summarize key points, generate practice questions, create flashcards, and make presentations. It makes studying feel more structured and less overwhelming. You can try it for free now. Comment “study” if you want me to share my full study method. I’ll send it to you in DM 💌 #studytips #studentlife #studyhacks #examprep #activerecall #productivity #college student #learningmethod
