Companies are not just experimenting with AI anymore. They are reorganizing around it. In March alone, tech firms cut 45,800 jobs, the worst month for reported tech layoffs in two years. Year to date, more than 92,000 tech workers have been laid off across 98 companies, with many firms citing AI investment, infrastructure, and organizational restructuring as the reason. The risk is not just the jobs being cut. It is what walks out the door with those people: institutional knowledge, judgment, trust, and the talent most capable of building what comes next. The Wall Street Journal also warned that these layoffs can push skilled people to start companies that later compete with the firms that let them go. AI should absolutely be part of the future of work. But leaders need to ask: are we building capability, or just replacing capacity too early? We are told AI is a cost saver, but the data is starting to tell a different story. If tech giants are blowing through their entire yearly AI budgets by June, what does that mean for your strategy? If you want to see the signals I am tracking in the market right now, catch the full episode for the deeper picture. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/amazon-killed-the-job-interview-openai-is-missing-its/id907990904?i=1000764190946 -------------------------------------------------- If you enjoyed this video, please like and subscribe! I hope the bubble is going to burst at some point. This is not sustainable. And AI companies are not making their money back, most of them are loss leaders.
