Fun fact: It's actually really common for things to not line up in graphic design. Graphic design is more about perception rather than what is mathematically true. For example, almost all fonts have round letters like "o" or "a" being slightly taller than more square letters like "v" or "z." This is because circles look smaller than they actually are.
