Why Are We Fat? | Episode 1 | How Ultra-Processed Food is Slowly Killing Us | ENDEVR Documentary Watch more 'Why Are We Fat?' Episodes here: Episode 2 - How Food Affects Our Mental Health: https://youtu.be/Wth5CSX7_hQ Episode 3 - Why Poor Sleep Leads to Weight Gain: https://youtu.be/C_DFBqJKZZE It's official: There are now more fat people than skinny people in the world. Obesity is the most significant health crisis on the planet. For the first time in history, children are facing shorter lives than their parents. Over the last 35 years, obesity rates have more than doubled, leading to a massive and rapid increase in heart disease, kidney problems, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. How did we go from obesity rates of 9% to 30% in less than a generation? Presented by overweight and diabetic Chef Simon Gault, this documentary examines the science behind a re-examination of traditionally accepted health advice and the emergence of new evidence that makes sense of the looming health problems we face. Gault talks to experts from around the world and allows himself to be a human guinea pig to improve his own health. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Subscribe to ENDEVR for free: https://bit.ly/3e9YRRG Facebook: https://bit.ly/2QfRxbG Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/endevrdocs/ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ #FreeDocumentary #ENDEVR #fat ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ENDEVR explains the world we live in through high-class documentaries, special investigations, explainer videos, and animations. it's no secret or anything groundbreaking. 1. eat less 2. move more 3. cook more simple healthy foods 4. discipline 5. consistency

It’s so simple, yet it’s so difficult to do. It takes a lot of resolve and discipline, but most people are just too weak to stick to it and avoid all that junk.

It's scary that means almost half of the US are eating ourselves to the grave 🪦

I lived for 10 months in the USA. I had never seen such bad eating habits in my life. It blows my m8nd that people eat those food on purpose and feed their kids the same way.

I used to crave sugar, couldn't live without it. Nestlé crunch bars, HagenDaz ice cream bars, brownies, french fries, huge hamburgers, Coca-Cola, chocolate shakes and chocolate cake. So I went cold turkey, and stopped eating sugar for two weeks. Only then did my cravings for sugar subside. I didn’t know I could change like that! This enabled me to back away from the great amounts of breads that I used to stuff myself with. I quit eating fast foods, and highly processed foods. I was gradually going Keto without knowing it! Switched to healthy fats like salmon, avocados, salads, only keto breads, occasional grass-fed beef. Now I'm fasting 24 or 36 hours now and then, with no problem. If I tried that when I was a sugar-holic, I would have passed out! After 8 months, one bit at a time, I lost about 50 pounds. (251 to 197, @ 6' 4") Helped me with increased mental clarity, reduced my back pain. My wife says my sleep apnea has gone away. I get out of bed easier, get out of chairs easier. Got me off the glycemic rollercoaster.

I became type 2 diabetic. I took it serious and completely changed my life. Been doing keto for two years. I list 100lbs in a year and have maintained it off. I was off all medication after 6 months of the life change. No metformin or nothing. Living free is amazing.

Some industrial pollutants & pesticides are hormone disrupting like micro-plastics, that cause hormone disregulation or imbalance that make people hungry. Not getting enough sleep makes people hungry, as does chronic stress! So light & sound pollution cause obesity!

MRI does not bombard you with radiation. It is Magnetic imaging not radiation. Much better way to scan than CT and xrays

I also believe alcohol addiction is at its core an addiction to sugar. The only addictive chemical that crosses the blood brain barrier.

Major respect to this host for doing it himself.

Most people also don't know that ALCOHOL IS SUGAR. Yet another reason why alcoholics have so many health issues - equal to those of regular sugar diabetics. I see 8 months have passed since the making of this video. It would be nice if ENDEVR followed up on Simon's progress in changing his diet and how positively this has affected his present health situation.

Been loving my low carb diet. I'm in better shape now, and have lost tons of weight. It's sad how we've been lied to about our diets. I workout too.

Dr. Thornley, you perfectly described my own sugar addiction. Its real, and a daily struggle and temptation. Discovering and acknowledging that I'm an addict, no different than a alcoholic, helps to deal with it. I lost and kept off 75+ lbs by living a ketogenic lifestyle for the last 4 years. Cheers from Northern California.
