Iβm from the US but Iβve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer. If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. This is definitely one of the best series youβve filmed
the depth of knowledge uncovered here is quite impressive. you really left no stone unturned. i have watched a lot of your episodes and i have always been curious about you south African visit. I'm definitely not disappointed. Great work
I gotta say, the chemistry between you and Lebo is off the charts!
the companions in this video, the black lady, the colored lady, the white guy with the sheep, the hunters, the indian lady.. they all had very dope personalities that made the discourse very interesting and entertaining. this was amazing!
I looooooove seeing the smiles on the kiddies' faces getting ready for the buffalo feast. so adorable.
I love that lady. She's so lively and seems truly happy in life.
Through Sonny and BEFR, I've learned about Sri Lanka Malay and now Cape Malay! Absolutely amazing to learn through a food review channel how far Malays have travelled throughout the world and not just within the Malay Archipelago! Amazing content as always!
Best episodeπ. Proudly South African πΏπ¦
Loved the Nyala disguised as a βkuduβπ€£ 41:06
I appreciate the food, the culture, and everything you showcase, but for me, the main reason I watch your channel is your emotional intelligence. You've mastered the perfect balance of curiosity, honesty, and respect for foreign cultures. It's a pleasure to watch something that could easily veer into awkward territory, exposing underlying negative sentiments rooted in our complex history. Instead, you manage to let every culture shine beautifully. I also agree that it would be great to see you explore our East Asian and Indian communities. Personally, Iβm curious to know if our Chinese community has any uniquely South African-Chinese hybrid dishes. We rarely hear much about South African Chinese culture, and it would be fascinating to learn more about it.
Its amazing that the love shared and expressed on this show. You can feel it through the tv, especially from the native indigenous people. Great job Sonny, truly exceptional.
"just one" one and a half? "just one" ok one and a half. this man understands me.
The food looks so well SEASONED!
at 44:42 - in the eest indies we call that cutters. It can be beef, pork cut up in cubes, seasoned and fried and ate when everyone is drinking.
Pumpkin Cakeπ²..., kidneys covered in stomach fat m "the appetizer" 43:42 ! ... and everything they did there is mind blowingly awesomeππ€©β€οΈ - That madala & Gogo couple is on another levelπ―π #ProudlySouthAfrican.
I'm very proud to see that South African food and culture is being spreaded around the world πΏπ¦β
This guys has put Africa dishes to world map ,as a zimbabwean i wanna say thank you sir, what a humble open minded American man please keep doing what you do π i enjoy watching you eat some unusual game dishes ie Apes etc
I am loving this, it shows all foods from different cultures in South Africa. I am a proudly South African. Love it guys
As a Namibian, I feel so grateful seeing how our neighbors are showcasing their cuisine..
Hi Sonny, I love your content. as a South African I'm truly amazed at the diversity here, the fusion of foods, and cultures. im from a coasstal city called Durban I now live in Johannesburg... the one thing that I wished you added to this tour was a trip to Durban to try out our Indian Influenced unique Fish Curry, and our famous Bunny chow (hollowed out loaf of bread with lamb, chicken, prawn of veg curry) well us Indians love to make currry out of everything like Lamb Trotters and sugar beans, sheep stomach with peas, sheep head Curry etc... im no a fan of offalss but nose to tail is the best way. Maybe you could do a coastal African experience from Mozambique to Port Elisabeth since you have done the Cape.
