"St. Paul, Pray for Us" is a short documentary film by Joe Parisi about one of the strangest and most beloved food traditions in St. Louis: the St. Paul sandwich. Found mostly at neighborhood chop suey restaurants in St. Louis city, the St. Paul sandwich is one of those uniquely local foods that many outsiders have never even heard of, but for generations of St. Louisans, it’s a familiar and unforgettable part of the city’s culture. This St. Louis documentary explores the mystery, history, and strange endurance of the St. Paul sandwich in a city where so much has changed. Part St. Louis food documentary, part neighborhood portrait, and part love letter to the quirks that make this city what it is, St. Paul, Pray for Us looks at how one humble sandwich survived in the very places where so much else has disappeared. If you love St. Louis history, St. Louis food, St. Louis films, local documentaries, or the weird traditions that define a city, this film is for you. If you’ve ever eaten a St. Paul sandwich, argued about where it came from, or just appreciate the strange little things that somehow endure in St. Louis, I hope you enjoy the film. #StLouis #StPaulSandwich #StLouisDocumentary #StLouisFilm #StLouisHistory #StLouisFood #ShortDocumentary

I've tried it from a couple of spots and found it bland. Is there a spot anyone can recommend? Regardless, I appreciate it exists. It's one of those things that adds to the texture of the city.
I love it! I never heard of the St. Paul sandwich but it sounds delicious!
