Just a normal Google Docs link. No "share-your-email-to-get-the-recipe" bullsh*t. Thanks a million, man! Going to prep some of those tomorrow! Cheers!
You say trend but those are all my videos 😂 love you Mike, been watching your channel for years
Souper Cubes are a game changer if you live alone. Suddenly cooking a meal after work doesn’t feel so overwhelming. Thanks for the recipes and inspiration!
Shout out to Sarah Hart, if you are looking for more Souper Cubes content, she is the Queen - many of her shorts are featured in this vid 🥰
Omg please make more of these for different cuisines etc! This would be LIFE saving
Fun fact about freezing rice: it acts upon the carbohydrates and turns them from simple into more complex carbs, meaning it becomes better for diabetics because it will induce a slower glucose response than freshly made rice.
Also wanted to add… a wide mouth pint mason jar perfectly holds a 1 cup Souper cube standing up. I make soups, freeze them in a souper cube, toss them in a jar to go to work and thaw and reheat them right there in the jar. So convenient.
I boil water ahead of time and freeze it. Then anytime I need to boil water, I thaw it out over high heat. Boom! Boiled water
Recipes available for free, in a Google doc, no email, no phone number, no account creation. That's fucking awesome man. I really appreciate that with you and your YouTube content, there's no incessant pursuit of further growth and ever increasing profits. You aren't collecting personal data to sell crap to us or to sell to advertisers. You aren't pumping out low quality BS to justify a membership or paid access. You aren't plugging bullshit products to add another comma to your bank account. Just a genuine guy sharing knowledge from personal experience on how to cook better food and save time while doing it. How much better, healthier, and more efficiently I cook and eat because of your content has been a priceless improvement to the lives and health of me my family. Thank you so much, and merry Christmas to you and your family!
Simply Sarah Hart is 1000% the reason I bought the Souper Cubes and I LOVE them. I find them really useful for meal prepping but also when I open a can of tomato paste and I only use a little, I freeze the rest using the tablespoon portions. I also have frozen rice and mashed potatoes on hand at all times. I think they even make one for cookies and breast milk and stuff too. Theyre just so useful. I love that they're oven safe too so you could bake mini banana breads or whatever you want.
Ooooo! It’s funny, when my mom comes over she’s like ‘there is nothing in your fridge’ (aside from fresh fruits, veggies, sauces etc…) I tell her it’s all in my freezer 😂and I also have a deep freezer as well in the garage lol
Sarah Hart 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Queen of the Souper Cube and got me meal prepping like a beast!
Please make this a series. I remember your air fryer series and this would be a game changer as a series
A simple public Google doc. Not a mailing list. Do you know what that means for beginner home cooks? A world and then a little more. You're amazing. Never change.
I would love to see italian and Indian cuisine meal prep. Those r two of my favourite cuisine but I am stuck on how to meal prep them. I'd really appreciate any tips and treaks with those cuisines. Also absolutely love these videos, always find a lot of useful information and as someone newly started to experiment with cooking I really appreciate all the new knowledge ❤️
0:42 "... use any larger silicone icecube mold.." No. No. No. The reason Souper (and any mold designed like Souper) works well is due to the generous space between each block which makes removing frozen food EASY. I've used some of those other molds that you showed.. a single silicone wall between blocks. Removing frozen food is HARD. And the silicone is too thin. Tears are inevitable.
All fun and games until you land on Chilli, Cabbage and Beans and youre blasting the sheets off all night
Souper Cubes have CHANGED my meal prep game forever. Especially with a 4 year old. Being able to freeze foods in single sized portions that work for her, it means so much less waste and dinner time on busy weeknights are stupid simple. Shout out to Souper Cubes!
For folks that have texture issues when it comes to food, typically stuff with starch is where you wanna be careful bc reheated they have an odd texture (mainly pasta and rice). You can overcome that by cooking them not fully through so that when you are reheating the cubes you are also finishing up the cooking process, so to speak. Or just cook em fresh (the only pasta i freeze for example are fresh ravioli that i havn't cooked yet) Veggies can be a bit tricky too if you feel very particular about texture, so maybe use the same technique as above or pick dishes that already have a tendency to overcook them like some stews etc where they will fall apart when squished with a fork. If you got sensory issues, be kind to yourself and allow a longer trial period where you figure out the details that fit for you. Happy cooking!
1:33 you are officially my hero. 😄 I was just thinking before this that I hope someone writes a book for freezer cube recipes. Thank you very much! My mom is moving in with my daughter and husband and myself, the chickens, dogs, and angora bunnies and the cat. I feel that I am going to need this in my life and in my freezer.
