When u have every ingredient: *it’s worth trying something new*
Ingredients: 4 slices of soft bread 2-4 slices of wafer thin ham Gouda cheese (or cheese of your choice) 1 large egg 60ml milk 1/2 tsp salt Optional: Ketchup to dip 😘 Makes 6 dippers Enjoy!
I love Croque Monsieurs! I’m definitely making these for dinner here in the good ol US of A lol
She lost me with that ketchup 😂
These look so delicious!
My smile dropped the moment I saw that ketchup 😅 To each their own though, those "sandwiches" look amazing! My fave ham to use is the Boar's Head brand's "Bold Peppenero Garlic" ham, as thinly sliced as the deli can get it and bunched up on the bread.
In Brazil we call those ‘misto quente’ and they’re a super popular breakfast or after lunch meal in any bakery
I’ve heard these called Monte Cristo Sandwiches and they are served w/ a warm jelly/jam sauce!!💜
Maybe warm marinara sauce instead of ketchup. Might make this tomorrow!
The ketchup killed my vibe but I love croque monsieur. Gonna make these tomorrow
Ingredients (for 1): 2 slices of bread Butter 2 slices Gouda cheese Wafer thin ham 1 large egg 60ml milk Salt Butter for frying 1) Cut the crusts off the bread slices and spread butter over one of the slices. 2) Add a slice of Gouda cheese and some wafer thin ham. 3) Add another slice of Gouda cheese, then place the other slice of bread on top. 4) Slice the sandwich into 3 batons. 5) Whisk together the egg, milk and salt until combined. 6) Coat the batons in the mix. 7) Melt some butter in a pan and toast the batons until golden brown on each side. 8) Enjoy!
Definitely worth trying !! Looks really yummy but without the Tomato Ketchup 🍅
Oh my goodness I love croques monsieur they’re one of my favorite snacks ❤ EDIT: MOM I’m FAMOUS
These look delicious. I bet they’d be even better if you added some fresh herbs in between the cheese (tarragon, dill, basil, chives, even parsley). I add fresh herbs when I make grilled cheese and it really is such an easy and inexpensive way to enhance the flavor. You could even experiment with using cream cheese instead of mayo on the inside of the bread… jalapeño or onion & chive cream cheese comes to mind! So many different ideas from one simple recipe and I love that.
I love the name crocque monsieur dippers and I'm gonna call it that. It's so much fun to say and it looks absolutely delish. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to try
They used to sell this very sandwich at "Bennigan's" back in the day, with a side of raspberry jam to dip it in. Delicious 😊
''Cockman Shear Dippers" 💀
I just recommend slicing them AFTER you cooked them... I had a hard time flipping them since the bread is so delicate and soft 😉 And as an American, ketchup actually DOES taste good with it!
I just finished making these for breakfast. They were great on sourdough
Nobody seen the heart the food made?💕
