The mini splits have to mounted a 1/8 or 1/4 bubble to one side. Whichever side the drain is on needs to be lower. Same thing happened in my cabin with the EG4. Hope that helps!!

24:28 the drain of that AC unit is running up, instead of running down. The tray at the bottom of the unit gets full of condensation water, and because the drain is running up, the tray starts running water over the edge, before it starts to run via the pipe to the outside.

Your Toby is such a silly dog! He always brings a smile. Your "squash" is actually a pumpkin and has a long way to go before its ready, the stem will turn brown and woody once the pumpkin turns orange, which is your sign it ready for harvest.

Kelly, your kitchen mini split it looks like the drain hose goes uphill from the mini split, which could be the problem on that one.

anti mold spray\sealant would have been useful in this situation because you never know when a mold would pop out of nowhere because of the water.

You need to get a generator if you are planning on living out there.

At some point you will need to take those units apart and clean the drip tray. Condensation from the coils drips down in a tray and then out the drain hose. that water can get funky and slimy. thats what clogs up that tube.

Cleaning the drain line is part of regular maintenance for any AC line that is subject to condensation. When it's been as hot as it's been this year, it needs to be done more often then normal. Now that you are aware of it, I'm sure you'll be watching it. Some lessons are learned through experiences. There's no shame in that. Way to go in noticing it and taking action by exposing the wood and getting it all dry as soon as you did. What a great neighbor you had too to come over and help and provide you the towels.

I had the same issue with my mini split leaking water inside the house. We used a wet/dry shop vac and suctioned the drain hose from outside and that solved the issue.

Drain lines for HVAC systems will grow mucus like mold, mildew, etc and stop up your drain causing the result you experienced. I don’t have the type system you have, rather we have the typical system (heat pump) you find in a larger home. When our system was installed the HVAC contractor installed a large drip pan as well as a funnel attached to a line leading to the drip hose. Each month we pour a cup of bleach in the funnel to kill anything growing in the drip line. If we forget to do that for a couple of months, especially during the summer, the line will get stopped up and I will have to blow compressed air in the drip line to clear it out. I don’t know if this is a routine issue in our part of the country but I suspect so. I’m surprised your HVAC contractor didn’t give you a heads up about potential drip line stoppage. Good luck with resolving this issue. My experience in my 80+ years is that when you own a home “stuff “ happens (as you have become very aware).
