Hi guys, the correct pronunciation of the AU in Australia is definitely not A, as in Apple. We’d be called Assies! The AU is the same as in Austin,Texas. We’re Aussies, as in Ozzy Osbourne . Phonetically, it’s OssTRAILia, with the emphasis on the 2nd syllable.

7:00 - Not actually a Boab/Baobab tree (the Australian species is Adansonia gregorii native to northern WA & NT)... rather, that's a Bottle Tree (Brachychiton rupestris), from the same genus as the spectacular flowering Flame Tree (Brachychiton acerifolius). Brachyiton IS in the same plant family as Baobabs though - the Malvaceae family, better known as the Hibiscus, Cotton, and Cacao family. So there's your Botany lesson for today 😜
