My husband has a side job installing flooring on the weekends and he said those tiles look like asbestos tiles. He said the safest option is to lay your subfloor over the tiles without removing them. The dust and even the glue is highly toxic. Also, wearing a mask is a must.
Robbie, have you considered taking a drone shot of the entire property? That way, you can make "rooms" with a walkway running down the middle, and have sections to complete as time goes by. Kinda like designing your property like you would a house.

Be careful with that flooring job. Old linoleum adhesives had asbestos. Please wear a mask while you do that job. I want you to be around for a LONG time💕

Get a roofer's shovel if you have to rip up anymore subfloor.

The wood plank flooring you are seeing is likely the original subfloor. Wide planks were used back in the day before plywood. This is what I have in my 1917 house. Original hardwood flooring would more likely be narrower strips of oak or other hardwood. Of course, this is a country farmhouse and not a city house so who really knows. That original tile could have asbestos in it.
It may really help you with the landscaping decisions if you get a sketchpad and draw a layout of your property. Of course your plans will change but it is easier to move trees and garden beds around on paper. And its fun to see the dream. Or even borrow a drone so you can get an areial view of the property and visualize future sections based on that view.
Please make sure that your old linoleum, the backing, or any mastic does not contain asbestos.
Please don't worry about your content, this is good stuff! The gardening will come along soon enough, I know you must miss it, but keep loving the containers for now! Your property is amazing, I'm an old Cali girl (from Fort Bragg) and wish I had never left for Florida. Your home is going to be so inspiring, love every stage of it.
