Oh my goodness, I lived beside Shepperton lock in my 20’s. Long time ago but it is where I was brought up & to see it again is great. I have lived in Cornwall now for over 35 years & never go back……. That house Nicky likes is the lock keepers house & beside it is the boat club which I belonged to for many years - memories eh?

As an Expat in Kyoto, I appreciate parallels in our experiences. I was so moved by what Carlo said around the three minute mark – and I think that’s something that would be difficult to express in any language! He really articulated well how important it is for us to go back and really experience our home countries and visit family from time to time. I think our situation is different from immigrants, though people seem to have strong feelings about those two terms. My husband also has a flexible schedule that allows him to accompany us. We are so fortunate! My husband also does not have a lot of English, but inspired by Carlo he has made some appearances on my newly limited YouTube channel about my life here in Japan, so Carlo is truly influencing people all over the world! Thank you so much for your important work!❤
