I've loved the Instagram/youtube shorts yall have been sharing lately!
Yall need some runner ducks for bug control! They won’t damage the garden the same as chickens.
toss the csbbage, not your cookies! lol
Hi, Twenty year cold process soap maker here. You did well for your first soap! My best soap of all time is always goats milk soap although I do make some with coconut milk. I also love to add a couple tablespoons of colloidal oats to some of my batches and a small amount of honey. Both are calculated by batch size. Honey can heat up a batch so most important to calculate... it's usually a couple teaspoons. I usually add honey that I warm a little and pour off about 1/2 cup of the batter and mix the honey into that to make sure it incorporates before adding to rest of batch. If not you can end up with blobs of honey in the finished soap. Also when cutting soap just slice it and remove the bar, don't bring the slicer back up through the bar to prevent drag marks. Bubble wrap is cool to use across the top if you put honey in your soap as it makes the top look like honeycomb. Just my two cents for what it's worth. Soap making can become quite addicting and I still love making it to this day. I'm gearing up to make some pumpkin honey goats milk soap which is always wonderful for the fall. I just add a couple tablespoons of pumpkin puree into the oils. Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A which is great for the skin! I always refrigerate my soap right after the pour for 1-2 days to prevent the gel stage. I then take it out of the mold, let it sit a few hours and then cut it. It leaves soap lighter and brighter in color and most times prevents any kind of gel rings from forming due to the sugar in the honey or pumpkin. I actually refrigerate all my soaps as I prefer that method over all. Anyway, happy soaping! Enjoyed the video!
I couldn’t do it! I’d have to have a big bonfire! 🐛🪱🤢🤮 You are sooooo funny!!! “It’s hard to tell the chickens what to do.” 😂
What a beautiful morning to sit down relax and watch 2 of my favorite youtubers! Have a wonderful Sunday ladies. 🥰🥰
The garden looks so beautiful from the from door!
Burn it all down!! 😂 lol I was trying to eat popcorn when I reached the worm part of the video 🤢
Soak the cabbage heads in salt water.
Cute top! I hope your goat milk soap smells nice.
Property is looking great. Hope you guys remember to take some time to sit back and admire your hard work.
When Savannah was trying to salvage those first heads I was talking to her saying just get a huge trash bag and close them in! 😂
Ehi celiac here. I think you need to increase the amount of water in your gluten free dough. Let the flour soak the first amount of water for some time and then add a little bit more, just until you can manage the dough (maybe oiling your hand or spatula). It can make a lot of difference!! ❤
Oh wow 🐛!! 😮 That's crazy that they come in such numbers so fast!! I'm so sorry that happened to you. Next time (hopefully never?!) you can put the chickens in the row then close the row cover to keep them there! 😊
Those worms that ate up your hard earned produce, I feel satisfaction in the chickens consuming them. Glad there were some chickens that took the lead to do so.
This year I did not cover my cabbages in netting to keep the cabbage moths at bay, instead I grew chamomile and flowers in and around the cabbages. Well it did not work, so I've had to harvest my cabbages before they are completely destroyed. They have now moved on to my brussell sprouts. thank goodness we don't get army worms, that's gross. I'm also battling powdery mildew, too much rain not enough sun, my zucchinis are so tiny. But, all is not lost my onions, carrots, beets, peppers, tomatoes and beans(although they are not as big as they usually are)are all doing well. The flowers and the herbs are also doing good. I've kept all the flat sheets over the years and used them for so many sewing projects. Such a great way to save and repurpose what we have. Have a good day girls. I look forward to you every week. Thanks for sharing.👍🏽❤🤓
You guys are amazing! You should sell your stuff online that you make. 😊🇨🇦
My family butchered when I was a kid and my grandma made lye soap with the leftover animal fat. My Depression-era grandma wasted nothing. I remember her cut bars curing like yours.
Awesome, GOOD MORNING! Always start my Sunday with the ladies! 🥰💐
I really love the house dresses and top! They look so comfy and cool.
