I mean... if you DID do a comprehensive study of the history of the LDS church... I would watch the HECK outta that.
As a ex-Mormon who went on a mission, not only are you unpaid…you actually PAY to be there! I went to TN and my family paid around $400/mo for me to “serve”. The church is literally ROLLING in the money from every avenue possible.
Annnnnnnd Nara Smith used to use the hashtag #tradwife so she’s trying to gaslight us fr
The absolute gaslighting from Nara Smith is one of the least surprising developments. Her feigned confusion at people associating her with that tradwife realm is entirely unsurprising and yet so infuriating.
The only "attack on families" is ICE, but you know thats not what theyre alluding to.
Thought this was a new Alyssa Grenfell video before the thumbnail loaded lol if you don't know her, she's an ex-mormon that talks all about mormonism and their problematic doctrines
Let’s be so, so clear… they’re not putting their audience before their children. They, the parents, are putting *themselves* before their children. Their beliefs, their egos, their self image, their money, their power. 28:02
There’s just something so embarrassing about setting up a camera and walking around like it’s not there. I grew up Mormon and attended BYU. There were girls there just there to find a husband, it’s so engrained in the culture.
what irritated me about nara’s claims in the interview about “never said i was a trad wife” ok maybe but every video started with “my husband asked me to make homemade oreos so im spending 6 hours making homemade oreos”. yeah obviously that was a made up premise and the reality is like “time to clock in at the tik tok factory, what would go viral” but a lot of people took you at your word
We need to keep talking about family vloggers, it’s so insane and exploitative.
iconic refresh
I had a hard time even taking photos of my firstborn at all bc it felt so strange to break the moment, pull out my phone and snap a pic I can’t imagine videoing my child in pain or crying. Like you have got to be so detached….
My grandmother was born in 19 12, And she lived a traditional life as suggested by these influencers, but she didn't have anyone schooling her children for her, nobody did the weeding in the garden that she maintained to feed her children through the Great depression and the rationing of World War II, and to her dying day, she regretted not being able to study geology and archeology at the South Dakota School of mining technology when she was a young woman because of her genitals being in the wrong shape. Trad wives as they're understood today stand on the shoulders of women who worked their asses off with no AC, no indoor toilets, and necessity in the face of genuine hunger. They're sourdough was not for show. I loathe Chad wife farmhouse influencer types. They couldn't handle a day in my grandma's life.
A church putting so much emphasis on marketing is a serious red flag
I got an ad by the MORMON CHURCH. And I am watching in the Netherlands. We do have a bible belt here as well and quite some mormon missionaries for some reason. They're a bit out of place in Amsterdam.
I live in the netherlands and I keep getting ads about mormonism 😭 I keep blocking them and they still show up help
I LOVE that you actually contacted the FTC about this grey area & love your vids in general, happy Friday!
got an ad from the lds church on this video lol
16:19 No, it's probably actually easy for her. She gets to choose what parts of their lives that strangers see. The adults have consent to what parts of their lives are shared and the kids don't.
i’m not religious but i thought the bible literally said a camel would fit through the eye of a needle easier than a rich person would get into heaven. wtf is the prosperity gospel
