A little advice. My first born son became a valedictorian. At the time, we were very humble. However, I paid my son $150 per month to get straight A's. Plus, I gave him lectures about the importance of a higher education. Among other things I can't mention here. Since he was little I would cut his hair every week. I kept it short and clean. People notice, teachers notice and they stereotype our kids on race and appearance. Sadly, grades are not based not based on their work. Hispanics are not "expected" to get A's . Base your lectures around that. Some people are just waiting for Hispanics to fall and mess up.

I think Siah was just being difficult. As a mom it’s hard sometimes but it’s also important to put your foot down, yes he can order things on line but it seems to be like a trend where kids just want to do what other kids do even if they truly don’t like it. He could’ve atleast given things a try and looked around. He is so blessed to have parents that allow him to buy whatever he likes. But grateful and good habits have to start young.
