I’ve been on the other side, as a former manager of affordable housing, sometimes there are regulations the seeker is not aware of, or it’s a credit or reference thing, but in my experience it was whoever had the income, legitimately great references and good credit first who was offered the unit. My advice is to find out just what kind of “affordable housing “ program/financing project it is and find out what the qualifications and restrictions are, this will give you a good idea of what management is looking for. Based on the program, there might also be a document outlining the admission policy. It should be public record depending on the financing. Find out who owns it and who manages it. I wish you the best. Whoever gets you for a tenant will be lucky because you won’t take your rental for granted, you worked so hard to get it!

Yes apply for these apartment lotteries can be filled with anxiety,happy thoughts and depression.i applied to one and got a quick response but had to go through another round of paperwork then heard nothing for about a year then heard that there were no more apartments available.good luck put it off your mind go about your business as if you never applied and just wait.
