Dawn, last year, I told you that I was considering leaving my husband. Last month, I wrote him a letter with an ultimatum. Either he started treating his ongoing depression and crippling anxiety with medication and therapy or he’d need to move out. He took me seriously and we’ve been in marriage counseling twice now. He hates the idea of the meds and I worry that he thinks he only has to do this now and when he feels things are better that he’ll be able to stop it all. But, the main point is that he listened and we are working on it.
My daughter is getting a divorce after 24 years, they have no children. It was very shocking but we are all on her team. I never thought I would want an adult child living with us but we told her if she wants/needs to live here to get sorted she is welcome. If she needs money, help getting her own house/apartment or anything we will be there for her. She has never once in her adult life ever asked us for anything and she maybe won't now, but we made it clear we would do anything so maybe that is enough to give her some comfort.
For so many of us, we grieve not for what we lost - but what we thought we had! So everyone, be gentle with yourself. 💙
Don’t worry about dating. Enjoy this phase of your life - embrace the advantages of being single.
May 3 2026 my husband of 24 years left me so he could "find happiness" with someone else. He wants a new life and a new wife. I was heartbroken and devastated for over 2 months and then in the last few days I started reflecting on our relationship and realized just how toxic it was and how much I looked away from how I was being treated just to keep the peace and keep our family together. I am getting to a place of peace and have hope for the future even though it is not what I thought it would look like and its been moments of true heartbreak. Humans are so adaptable and it is in our nature to heal and keep moving forward as long as we are reflecting on the past and not ruminating on the mistakes and hurts. Thank you for sharing.
Dawn as of today I’ve decluttered 6,853 items, since starting Christmas Eve 2025 and I don’t miss a thing.
Dating is no longer fun. Just maintain your peace.
My husband has finally decided he needs to purge the garage. Hallelujah! We rented a dumpster and so far he's doing well.
Children feel safe to be challenging when their home is stable. Whilst it sounds backward, the kids being a handful is a positive sign you're doing a good job x
the Bravery and Generosity of sharing this is humbling. thank you👍
Dawn, I got divorced almost 5 years ago. I haven't started dating. I just am enjoying learning who I am on my own. I enjoy my kids and my peace. Do not feel like you need to rush. Enjoy the season you are in. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I appreciate that you pointed out how pushback can be so costly. It certainly was for me. When I had taken all I could and finally spoke up, he left and never came back. He didn't just leave me, but also our young children, including one with special needs- and left us with no financial resources. The guilt I feel has been the worst. He's been gone over a year and the divorce was final 3 weeks ago. This is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I am doing it. I also appreciate the resources you have shared. I look forward to diving into your videos and turning my VERY cluttered and disorganized house into a happy and functional home for me and my children.
Dawn, my British 🇬🇧 mum always says, you couldn’t get anyone more perfect than Jesus Christ and yet they still hung him on a cross. Jesus knows your heart. Be at peace knowing that He knows the real story. He’s an all loving God and He always stays close to those who are suffering. We also got you xx 😘

My divorce was so painful, it felt almost like a death. But I experienced God fulfilling all of His promises and carrying me through very dark times. So this terrible season of life solidified the truth in His Word and my faith is stronger than ever. I am blessed and I pray that others truly turn to Him when it is hard.
Your openness, transparency and joyful attitude has made this my favorite video you’ve ever made! I relate to so much of your experiences! Thank you so much for being real.
❤ Dawn, I respect you for doing what is best for you & your children. You don't owe anyone any explanation. Keep staying positive & encouraging. You're awesome!
17:29 therapist Patrick Doyle calls it "hopium" - false hope is like a drug that keeps us stuck in the hopeless relationship
It took me a while to watch the "I got divorced" video. Over the years, I noticed Tom being unkind many times, and I hurt for you. My abusive husband took his own life, and some blamed me while others asked why I didn't leave him. I was thinking it was all my fault. Outwardly, all looked perfect. We were also part of an unloving but Bible-teaching church, and God made a way for us to get out and into a loving Bible-teaching church. The hardest part was that my husband and I, with our children, were sent to help the church, and I was told I could never leave.
You have our full support. Many of us have been there or going through it. I'm so grateful that you are willing to share your journey and your truths. 🤗🥰
