You could do a compromise with Mr TCD. Restore the pond, but tack on a hydroponic greenhouse next door to it. So the water from the pond goes round the greenhouse with all its nutrients feeding the plants. Have some fish in the pond, and they'll keep the nutrient levels up on their own!

It would be a really nice feature to have that pond restored, I really hope you choose to go that route.

I'm with Mr TCD regarding the pond, I built one in our garden a while back and no regrets, Super relaxing when the fountain is on and obviously wildlife love it . Great video as always 😊

Would make for some excellent content if you decide to restore the pond! Is there still electricity running to it to power the equipment for it, or will you have to try and run a new cable if you go ahead with it?

I was thinking if it was me and the pond bottom is below the garden level I'd knock down the walls and have it as a wildlife pond

As a toddler, my daughter was playing by my mother's pond when a concrete Otter fell over and sliced the end of her finger off. We called it her Otter bite. Thankfully, the surgeons at Wexham Park Hospital was able to repair it and you would never know! Thank goodness for the NHS.

I hope you restore the pond, build a soil ramp, and allow it to become a wildlife haven. We've got a tiny, tiny pond and it's home to three frogs, newts, we had frogspawn, tadpoles and tiny frogs this year. It's a fantastic opportunity for some re-wilding.

Yes yes yes to redoing the pond Vikkie. Biggest pump and filter you can afford with built in UV light to control algae if adding fish. Loads of dedicated channels on you tube for wildlife ponds, check out Marks home and garden, he has a massive wildlife pond and he always answers his viewers too, lovely chap.

The pond if leeking fit new liner over the top , a good butyl one will last 20yrs. The end i would create a waterfall from right to left to allow for natural filtration by slowing water flow. Pumps always bigger than what you need, looking forward to seeing you do this. Thanks for the video👍
