I love it too, I just love £1,000 more.
It's a sad situation. On a better timeline this would have been a banger. I''m looking forward to an emulation video on this, I've been emulating on Linux for a short while now and had a good time, my ideal use for this would be retro game emulation on a console for factor/ experience and I think this is going to shine for that.
it seems like a fine device that got screwed by the AI/data center caused component price surge
Brother I am not McLovin the price tag
I can hear Bob Wulff making angry noises in the distance!
We are ready for the emulation showcase :)
That pre order system is odd but its definitely thought out to prevent scalper bots.
Man the timeline where this was 650-750 would have a been a revolutionary moment.
Hey Russ. Long time viewer here. I've been really loving the valve hardware coverage and I have a special request, since I genuinely believe you're the only who would cover it. If possible would you be willing to do a Steam frame review at some point? I know the Frame isn't for you and you've said it multiple times. But I really want to see how it will handle emulation, which is essentially your ballpark. I just want to see you go in depth on its dual screen/3DS/Wii emulation. Of course if you don't want to, that's cool. But please if you ever get a chance do share your thoughts on it. Personally would love to see a video on it. Thanks for everything else though!
Man, if this was sold at a non-crazy price it would do numbers. So sad how the current situation messed up the prospects of this thing.
Now we wait for the emulation video
18:25 for a second I thought he was gonna do the pocket test 😂
After the way Steam cut me out of the ordering process because I’d never bought anything prior to April 27th, and the offered big price, I just built a gaming rig. 9800x3d, and a 9070 XT, took a leap to Bazzite based on Russ’ past mentions. And I have to say it’s phenomenal. I chose the Gnome desktop, but putting it into Steam Console mode is pretty cool. 4K/120 couch gaming.
Finally the Steam Machine review I've been waiting for
FSR 4.1.1 is truly a godsend for this mini pc
If it had come out at the price range originally speculated I would have absolutely bought one for fun and curiosity. I'm so glad I upgraded my PC not long before this current situation. No blame on valve for the price of course and it's such a cool little machine.
I haven't really put much attention to the Steam Machine cause I was really never in the target audience. Just watching this video cuz' Russ posted it. And this is the first time I notice this thing is basically just a bit larger than a freaking PC Power Supply, including the giantic fan. This is seriously compact and boutique.
Brothers, don’t fall for FOMO.
Poor Wulff is howling in the distance. lol
I don't agree about the purchase system. They went with the fairest possible method that also combats bots. Now, the supply shortage is a different issue, but no purchase system would magically make more units. I would love to see others copy this method.
