Those two phones were pretty much it for anyone born in the 70’s

I grew up with those rotary phones. My parents went nuts when the phones became push button. Those really saved time when calling the radio station to try to win the contest.

1971 kid. God I miss slamming those phones into their cradle when someone pissed you off

Yeah, that Trimline came out in '65. The model 500 has been around forever. I'm first edition GenX (1965), so I guess I'm using the Trimline. I remember having one on the kitchen wall, with a long, long cord which was always twisted upon itself. One of my jobs was to unclip one side and untwist it so it hung straight. I'd have to do it about once a week.

1968 here with NO cell phone! Rotary phone.......yep, that's what we had.

My Aunt, who was born in 1964, had a pink princess phone.

For our family, it was the Western Electric model 554 wall mounted phone. There was no quick connection to plug it in, it had to be installed by a phone company (Bell Telephone) technician, and there was one area code for the 2 counties of Long Island, which you didn't have to dial unless you were calling from one of the 5 burroughs (counties) of NYC, the upstate region, or out of state.

My grandmother was a phone operator before telephone numbers were a thing. And my mom was a phone operator when telephone numbers were four digits.
