This is a really bad news for Airtel and Jio users. Yes, your mobile recharges are about to get even more expensive. According to a new report, telecom companies are planning to hike recharge prices by another 12 to 15% over the next few months. Because the market is now basically controlled by just three major players, (except BSNL) and every company wants to increase its Average Revenue Per User, or ARPU. Great news if you're a shareholder. Not so great if you're the one paying for the recharge. And the worst part? We've already seen multiple price hikes recently. Even the salaries don't increase this much and the government is sitting silently watching these companies loot us by charging exorbitantly new higher prices. Government should step in and force the companies to manage their expenses and incomes. Sensibly so as the burden is not transferred to the regular users 2 to 3% hike in 1 or 2 years is understood. But 10% 12% or 15% Hike is not acceptable.
