Peugeot main dealer tech here - happened to me last week , lad brought his ds3 in with a misfire , turned out to be a dodgy plug , came back after a week saying misfire has returned , turned out to be failed exhaust valve seat , shit happens that you can’t explain .

Probably cheaper and better alternative would be to get Crank & Rod replaced Everything remains at some form of Originality 👍 That 10k mileage discrepancy though 😨 Mental how you're buying off someone that was recommended by the previous seller.... the person that left you in this situation 🤯🤯

Ok. Quick question why dont they fix the original engine at least when its rebuild you know all the internals are good its now turned into a throw away society stupid if you ask me yes the labour cost outway the price of the parts but its the satisfaction of knowing it has a good engine and car

Must have starved of oil to make it knock.. I luv the EP3 Type R I’ve had 14 since 2004 only ever blew up 2 due to shoving too much NOS down it 😂they built for thrashing very solid engine

I once changed the big ends on an Opel Rekord 2.0. I did it in the pouring rain on axle stands and it took me about 2 hours. You have to be super careful not to push the con rod too far upwards when refitting or the Piston rings will snap open in the top of the cylinder and that would mean taking the head off. (I was careful but it was a very nervy job... and it was successful.)👍
