The Museum Asked Us to Rescue This Armoured Vehicle… It Was Worse Than We Thought

This week we head three hours down to the RAF Manston History Museum with one goal – recover one of their historic CVR(T) armoured vehicles and bring it back to the farm for restoration. What looked like a straightforward recovery quickly turned into a real challenge. With the gearbox seized solid and the tracks refusing to move, winching it onto the trailer wasn’t an option. Instead, we had to get creative and use the HIAB to lift the entire vehicle before transporting it back to the workshop. Once home, the investigation begins. After finally freeing the seized tracks and stripping the vehicle down, we uncover a discovery that could change the entire restoration… Can this historic military vehicle be brought back to life, or is the damage worse than we imagined?
