Because AI will never have any ROI, they are having a massive fire sale to recover capex. The AI dream has become a nightmare, especially now that China has many free LLMs.

There was a cloud compute glut prior to AI coming on the scene. AI is literally a manufactured scarcity scam by all the cloud providers and hardware manufacturers.
The reason the data centres are so big is because half the space is used for the boxes the NVIDIA GPUs came in - so they can be resold on eBay.
