Apple is passing the cost of “Apple Intelligence” onto its customers. Apple last Thursday announced an increase in prices for Macs and iPads, citing a memory chip shortage brought on by the artificial intelligence boom. The Cupertino, California-based company called the demand spike an “unprecedented challenge” for the consumer electronics industry. “The rapid expansion of AI data centers has created an extraordinary surge in demand for memory and storage. We have never seen a component price increase this much, this quickly,” the company said in a written statement. I’m honestly shocked no mainstream companies have marketed on a “no AI” product yet, most people hate AI and would probably support products without it if given a decent alternative. This is already happening with browsers, kinda surprised it hasn’t really happened anywhere else.

Apple isn't passing the cost onto the consumer because they use it, it's because all the memory companies have decided to work together to keep prices high due to AI datacenter demand.
This why people are switching to flip phones.

For anyone that really wanted to avoid AI entirely on their computer, which is impossible nowadays in both Windows and Mac machine, you could search up on how to get Linux on your computer. It is an an open source alternative to the 2 mainstream operating system and will have NO AI at all (unless you explicitly put it there). I personally use Linux Mint Cinnamon due to it resemblance with Windows, and how easy it is to use.
