Tried to do this with my ex. She brought home a husky mix against my wishes, and after a week of ig pics, she got tired of the care it took and treated him like an average house dog. Out of empathy for him, I took on the role. A year later we split, but I was already attached. But she wanted to take him. So we did the 3 days on 4 days off thing for a little but he would always cry for me and she’d have to bring him over early. But he never cried for her here. Eventually, she tried to take him for good with her new man. I told her sue me. Even all her friends would side with me. She never messaged me again after that. He’ll be 4 in August. And we have the best bond ever!
