If someone is wondering, the "Grippy glue" is specially made for this purpose, to secure the clothes to the skin so they don't move out of place, and no, they won't cause damage to the skin. However, I don't see how you would need to stick your socks to your legs just for school, I hope this isn't a rule in their school and it's just a dumb idea from this mother.

As a performer, I use body-safe adhesive that comes off with water to keep some costumes in place. However, that is me making that choice for wardrobe and performance purposes. It's not my mom slapping glue on me to sell an item and probably for aesthetic and/or monetary purposes. There's a way to advertise something like this, and that ad was definitely NOT the way to do so. This glue is likely safe for skin. The ad is a bit odd and probably not advertising to the right audience, though.

yall. i think this is for private schools with strict dress codes regarding socks, and i even use it as a theatre kid bcuz sometimes they need the socks to stick straight up :)

Fashion glue is pretty useful actually. But I don’t see what a kid would need it for. Unless they go to some kind of super strict private school that will like publicly flog them for their socks falling

Honestly I don't HATE this one as much. I was a kid with sensory issues but loved higher socks. The issue was them falling down which led me to messing with them. I think kid me would have actually liked this. Most kids though this is far from necessary.

Body glue is very common and extremely useful for costumes or keeping thigh high socks up or keeping a chest line stuck on so the girls don’t fall out! It was fantastic for my strapless wedding dress and I felt so secure. That being said, using it on kids for everyday wear is really unnecessary.

As an Irish dancer, we actually had "sock glue" to hold up our socks while at competitions and performances, but I HATED it

Actually this glue has been around here for a pretty long while especially in the Heisei era of Japan where high school girls glued their loose socks so they don't fall down! Random fact of the day
