being Indian brown girl with not so symmetric facial features & kinda overweight for them π₯²π₯².....i can't even imagine my self in Korean!! like they are way too much obsessed with unrealistic beauty standards..... i'm happy the way i'm!! its not like i don't do makeup or something but do it with my choice not because of any external pressure or toxic beauty standardsπ₯²π₯π€§
I lived in South Korea for three years and had a great experience. I felt the food and portions were much healthier than here in the US using traditional herbs and occasional fasting to cleanse the body. I think they were more in tune.
No todos pero los hombres Coreanos parecen mujeres. Muy bonitos pero para mΓ mejor un hombre masculino.
In a country where you're demonized, not just for being fat, but for hardly taking in _any_ calories, how on _earth_ does anyone _literally function?!_
My ex girlfriend was from south korea. We did go to the gym, eat a lot and healthy food. She gained some weight and guess what? While talking to her parents and friends via face time they called her fatty oder pig. So sad...
What is the use of trying to achieve any goal, when the most important qualification is your looks.
That stupid bamboo measuring things pisses me off. I was born with a large chest. No amount of dieting will ever make me fit through the ones that are considered "acceptable"
After spending two years paying off all my debt, I'm now in a position to put away Β£16660 a month. So the plan is Β£6660 in an emergency fund and invest the remaining Β£10k.
27:44 calling him obese is just INSANE!
It's so cool that everyone is so fluent in English. I wish we had fluency in more than 1 language in America.
The end / doctor bit is the perfect example why BMI is a bad way to judge peopleβs weight.
This is so depressing.
In other words, being fat in Korea is rebellious and original.
I couldn't agree more "i don't see motivation, i just see pressure" nailed it
Then again their beauty standards arenβt just about weight. Itβs about skin color, social status, proportions, body hair and so much more Even in schools people carry makeup pouches and you get bullied if youβre average looking or βuglyβ
"don't be fat, ugly or poor." - 99% of the world population
Zero sugar,, but full of chemicals
Send me there for a month I'll be ready for summer π
Thanks for posting this. Iβm originally from South Korea and now work as a psychologist in Australia, treating eating disorders. I also train psychologists in Korea and often talk about those poles in parks with signs implying that if you canβt fit through them, you shouldnβt be that size. I saw one myself a few years ago while visiting family and was shocked that such a fat-phobic message was being promoted publicly. Fat phobia exists everywhere, but South Koreaβs intense social pressure, media messaging, and beauty standards can contribute significantly to disordered eating and eating disorders. Public awareness is so important, so thank you for sharing this video. I hope more people learn to question these harmful messages and recognise how damaging they can be.
