I once asked my Malaysian friend “where’s the silverware at?” I didn’t mean it badly, just confused. She laughed so hard and said “we have finger bowls”. 💀😂

I don't stare because they're eating with their hands, I stare because they do it with such skill.

People actually calling eating with hands gross. I'm an Indian and I challenge anyone to remove fish bones with a spoon or fork. Edit: What have I done😱. I didn't think WW3 will be caused by fish bones

I think it just goes to show how geography and culture affects our food SO much. Because its a very different experience to eat with spoon, vs. chopsticks, vs. your hands. And it depends what kind of food. I'm grateful to live where I do in America, as I get to experience a small piece of many heritage's food.

Ngl that’s smart. My dumb ass will be straight destroying a plate of food and regret it like 20 minutes later when that reflux starts

Rules to it. Short nails(clipped on Mondays or fridays) Eat with three fingers. Right hand only. You can only pick from the closest to you. Edit: Clip whenever needed, but Mondays or* Fridays were noted to be best of the days to do so. Eating with three fingers, yeah don't go smearing your whole hand, example: most fingerfood and dips you only need three fingers max. All of these are table manners, and considered common sense even, you can't just eat the food however and expect acceptance and tolerance. Some people can not sit with you on the same table if you chew loudly, slurp or have long nails.

As a Hispanic this is how my grandfather was raised on the ranch. We eat almost everything with tortillas and out hands. He always told us you don’t need silverware when you have a good tortilla. I like Mohameds view on it too.
