I lived in NYC most of my life and I am still shocked by the prices. I am not THAT old but remember papaya king being like 2 bucks a dog. You got two dogs and drink for 5 bucks lol. And the standard hotdog from the stand like $1.50. Highest I remember was like 4 bucks and I thought that was crazy. 8.30 even for Central Park is yeah a bit much lol. Love you put the cost though! Seems your friend had a good day which is what matters!!

Lived in NYC as a child and there was a Mike's Papaya a block or two away. A hot dog and a mango drink for like $1 or $2 after school was the best.

Oh my God! There was a Grey's Papaya around where I used to live in the Bronx, and back in the day, my mom and my go to order was two hot dogs with two cheese fries and two pink lemonades! It was the best! 😊❤ Sadly, its gone now. Replaced by a Credit One bank. Also, I've since moved to Manhattan. Also also, can't be eating glizzies too often anymore, doctor's orders 😢

As a kid it was just ketchup and chopped onions for me (couldn't get with that tangy taste of mustard) but as an adult I added mustard and relish into the equation and the rest is history. Props on ending the hot dog tour on a traditional hot dog with mustard tho - it's hard to beat the classic.
