That's similar to putting hot charcoal on the top of the pot lud at the end of the cooking.
I love oven jollof rice, no waste lol, I've been making jollof on the hob recently because I was trying to perfect my recipe and see what the smoke would do to the recipe... Honestly it's the herbs helping with the "smokiness", just burning it alone didn't really do much. I'm going back to oven jollof soon, a whole cup of burnt rice out of 7 cups, is not my thing 😂
