The Wrong Number, The Right Person – Episode 2

Maya stared at the engagement photo for what felt like forever.

Her heart sank.

Without saying another word, she blocked Daniel's number.

The next morning, there were 27 missed calls.

He had tried reaching her from different numbers.

Finally, a text came through from an unfamiliar number:

> "Please don't block this one. That woman is my cousin. It was her engagement, not mine. I should have explained. Please let me."

Maya wanted to believe him...

But she had been hurt before.

She ignored the message.

Three days later, she was walking through a bookstore when someone gently called her name.

"Maya..."

She turned around.

It was Daniel.

Out of breath, holding the same phone he'd used to text her months ago.

"I've been looking for you everywhere," he said.

He opened his phone and showed her dozens of family photos from the engagement ceremony.

The woman in the picture was indeed his cousin.

"I came because I didn't want a misunderstanding to end something that meant everything to me."

For the first time in days, Maya smiled.

"I'm sorry I didn't let you explain."

Daniel smiled back.

"So... can we start over?"

Before Maya could answer...

A voice from behind shouted,

"Daniel! She's here!"

They both turned.

A beautiful young woman was running toward them—with tears in her eyes.

She threw her arms around Daniel.

Maya's smile disappeared.

Who was this woman... and why was she crying in his arms?
