Episode 6: Secrets from the Past

Ada stared at the medical report, her hands trembling.

"My father's name... How is this possible?"

The young woman swallowed hard.

"My name is Maya. Six months ago, my mother became seriously ill and needed a kidney transplant. During the hospital tests, we discovered she had another child who could be a match."

Ada frowned.

"What does that have to do with my father?"

Maya slid another document across the table.

"My mother's records listed your father as the man she had a relationship with many years ago."

Ada's heart pounded.

"Are you saying..."

Maya nodded.

"We might be sisters."

The restaurant fell silent.

Daniel watched Ada, unsure of what to say.

"I only found out recently," Maya continued. "When I met Daniel, I had no idea who you were. After everything happened, I started asking questions. That's when I discovered your family name."

Ada shook her head.

"No... This can't be true."

Just then, her phone rang.

It was her mother.

Through tears, her mother said,

"Ada... your father has been keeping something from us for years. He wants you to come home immediately."

An hour later, Ada walked into her family house.

Her father was sitting quietly in the living room.

Without looking up, he whispered,

"It's time you knew the truth."

Ada sat down, her voice trembling.

"Is Maya... really my sister?"

Her father closed his eyes.

After a long silence, he answered...

"Yes."

The room went completely still.

Everything Ada believed about her family changed in a single moment.
