Men blaming their looks for dating struggles aren’t actually trying

Every time I see a guy complaining that he’s ugly and can’t get dates, I look at the photos and… come on. No haircut in nine months. Patchy neckbeard. Stained shirt from 2011. Clearly hasn’t showered. My brother in Christ, did you even attempt to look like you don’t smell like stale Fritos?
Most of these men are not actually ugly. They just look unkempt. And the frustrating part is they absolutely know what an attractive man looks like. Clean. Groomed. Fit. Well-dressed. They just act helpless and refuse to do anything about it.
Women, on the other hand, are expected to look presentable from birth. Hair done. Clothes neat. Skin clear. Sit properly. Smile nicely. And that expectation only escalates. Skincare, makeup, fashion, hair removal, nails, lashes, dieting, cosmetic procedures, sometimes literal surgery.
We do all of this as second nature.
So forgive me if I have zero sympathy for a man who can’t be bothered to shower, shave, get a haircut, and put on clean clothes. There are endless free resources on how to improve your appearance. Women have been doing this since the dark ages. Literally crushing beetles for lipstick.
Be serious.
