Episode 11: The Hidden Evidence

The living room erupted in shouting.

"You betrayed your own brother!" Ada cried.

Uncle Emeka remained calm.

"I did what I had to do. I needed the money."

"You forged my signature!" Ada's father shouted.

Emeka shrugged.

"Prove it."

The lawyer stepped forward.

"We will."

Just then, Maya remembered something.

"Wait... when I was helping to clean the old storeroom yesterday, I found a dusty metal box."

Everyone rushed to the storeroom.

The box was hidden beneath an old wooden cabinet.

Inside were faded photographs, land receipts, and a small flash drive wrapped in plastic.

The lawyer plugged the flash drive into his laptop.

A video began to play.

It showed Ada's late grandfather years earlier, standing on the family land.

He held up the original land documents and spoke directly to the camera.

«"This land belongs to my children. No one has the right to sell it without the consent of the entire family."»

The room fell silent.

Then another video appeared.

It showed Uncle Emeka secretly meeting Chief Victor.

An envelope full of cash changed hands.

Chief Victor smiled.

"So no one will ever know?"

Uncle Emeka replied,

"My brother trusts me completely."

The lawyer paused the video.

"This changes everything."

For the first time since arriving, Uncle Emeka looked frightened.

He realized the truth had finally caught up with him.

Just as the family began to celebrate, a loud knock echoed through the house.

A police officer stepped inside.

"Good afternoon."

He looked directly at Ada's father.

"We've received new information about this case."

Then he turned toward Uncle Emeka.

"Sir... you're coming with us."

Uncle Emeka slowly raised his hands.

But before anyone could move...

Chief Victor burst through the front door and shouted,

"Don't arrest him!"

"I was the one who planned everything."

The entire family gasped.
