The Last Seen

Episode 8: The Woman in the Blue Scarf

Ada barely slept that night.

The mysterious call echoed in her mind.

"If you want to know the whole truth... come alone."

The next morning, she arrived at the small café the caller had mentioned.

She looked around nervously.

Then she saw an elderly woman wearing a blue scarf.

The woman smiled gently.

"You must be Ada."

Ada nodded.

"Were you the one who called me?"

"Yes."

The woman invited Ada to sit.

"My name is Grace. I was your father's closest friend many years ago."

Ada leaned forward.

"Then tell me the truth."

Grace took a deep breath.

"Your father loved your mother deeply. But before they got married, he made a mistake that changed several lives."

"He wanted to take responsibility for Maya, but Maya's mother disappeared without telling him where she had gone. He searched for them for years, but he never found them."

Ada frowned.

"So... he didn't abandon Maya?"

Grace shook her head.

"No. He made mistakes, but abandoning his child wasn't one of them."

Just then, Grace handed Ada an old envelope.

"Your father asked me to keep this safe if anything ever happened."

Inside were old photographs, letters, and one unopened note.

On the front, it read:

'For Ada—Open only when you know the truth.'

With trembling hands, Ada opened the letter.

As she began to read, tears rolled down her cheeks.

At the bottom of the page was one sentence that changed everything:

"If you can forgive me, there is one final gift waiting for you at home."

Ada rushed back to her parents' house.

When she opened the front door...

She froze.

Daniel was standing in the living room beside her parents and Maya.

But he wasn't alone.

Next to him stood a little girl holding a teddy bear.

The girl looked at Ada, smiled, and asked,

"Are you the auntie Daddy talks about?"

Ada's heart stopped.

She slowly turned to Daniel.

"What... does she mean?"
