Episode 4: The Second Chance

Daniel and Ada rushed into the hospital, their hearts pounding.

The doctor led them into a private room.

"I'm afraid your father suffered a heart attack," he said gently. "He's stable now, but he needs to avoid stress. He's asking to see his family."

Daniel wiped tears from his eyes.

"I should have answered my mother's calls," he whispered.

Ada stood quietly beside him.

When they entered the ward, Daniel's father smiled weakly.

"My son..."

Daniel knelt beside the bed.

"I'm sorry, Dad."

His father squeezed his hand.

"Life is too short to waste on lies and pride. If you've hurt someone you love, don't wait until it's too late to make it right."

Daniel looked at Ada. Tears rolled down his face.

"I've hurt the person who stood by me through everything."

After a few minutes, Ada stepped outside the room.

Daniel followed her.

"I know I don't deserve another chance," he said. "I'm not asking you to forget what I did. I'm asking for the chance to become a better man."

Ada looked at him for a long moment.

"Trust is like a mirror. Once it's broken, you can fix it, but you'll always see the cracks."

Daniel nodded.

"I understand."

Ada sighed.

"I'm choosing peace. Whether that peace includes you depends on what you do from todayβ€”not on what you promise today."

She walked toward the hospital exit.

Daniel watched her leave, knowing that words alone would never be enough.

He would have to prove that people can truly change.
