We headed up to the famous Lancelin sand dunes in Western Australia to put the BYD Shark through another real-world sand test — and things got a little more serious than expected. Soft sand, steep climbs, and plenty of momentum had the Shark working hard, but after pushing it pretty hard through the dunes. A bit of damage, plenty of laughs, and a good reminder that sand driving can bite back quickly if you overcommit on soft tyres! #BYDShark #Lancelin #4WD #OffRoad #SandDriving #BYDAustralia #4x4Australia #Adventure #WesternAustralia #OffroadTesting #Dunes #4WDAdventure #Wildtrak #OffGrid #BeachDriving #4x4Life #Overlanding #Aussie4WD #Recovery #OffroadAdventure

What modes were the shark set too when on the dunes ?
Awesome videos guys. I have a shark also and it does amazing on the sand at gnanagra pines . Keep these awesome videos coming
Can it be towed?
For a first gen ute, BYD has done well.
Everybody has to remember the Shark is an AWD, not a true 4x4 as yet. As an all wheel drive, it does an incredible job with no diff locks or low range for that matter. Shark version 2 maybe another whole new level of performance. Agree that weight is going to definitely be a problem for Electric Hybrid and EVs for sometime yet until new lighter weight battery technology is developed. Unfortunately, I probably won't be around to see that, but I am liking the idea of a Denza B8 next year as my last fun car.
Good video thanks. The shark is a beast in the sand.
Awesome vehicles, no wonder they are selling so many.
Thanks guys. Great video. Yes would love to see a lift kit and the 120 L aftermarket tank put in the shark. Free crawl mode coming in a few months. The wrap looks brilliant. Keep the videos coming. 👍
An entertaining video, love it. If you still think it’s not yet a touring vehicle fit the aftermarket 120 litre tank and take all the crap off the roof.
