Winnie Auma’s journey is a powerful story of resilience, empowerment, and community transformation. Based in Kibera, Kenya, Winnie started out as a small-scale tailor struggling to make ends meet. Through the support of Family Hope International, she received the resources she needed to start her own tailoring business. Today, Winnie runs a growing fashion and design shop where she creates school uniforms, custom clothing, handbags, and supplies tailoring materials to others in her community. Even more inspiring, she is now mentoring and training young women, multiplying the impact and creating new opportunities for the next generation. This is what sustainable change looks like.
