US activists blocking weapons shipment arrested

Activists blocked the entrance to a port in Elizabeth, New Jersey on Friday morning in an attempt to stop what they say was a weapons shipment headed to Israel. Demonstrators chained themselves together and underneath vehicles. Police officers used chainsaws and other power tools to remove them after hours of disruption at the terminal. “If we are able to save one life, then it’s worth our effort,” one activist said during the action.
