In 1954, white civil rights activist Carl Braden was sentenced to 15 years in prison after helping a Black couple purchase a home in a segregated Louisville neighborhood. Real estate agents refused to sell to Black families, so Braden bought the house in his name. His conviction was later overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. #CivilRights #CarlBraden #HousingSegregation #1954 #SocialJustice #BlackHistory #FairHousing #Activism
