Anthropic is hemorraging money in the billions and suddendly they're profitable in time for them going public. Ssuuuuure... I can believe that. Sure they're not cooking the books at all.

I've come to the understanding that the push for all this agentic AI agents is a realized and never truly abandoned push for digital slaves that can work for these c-suite executive wealthy individuals without having to feel the moral consequences of using actual human slavery. Unfortunately, for them, replacing normal human jobs with these free slave-like egenic AI agents will only reduce the amount of consumerism for AI by the general masses and they're already burning billions of dollars to keep it afloat. They're literally poisoning their own well of consumers for this realization of digital slavery. It's such a heinous trajectory for technology that I don't think any of us thought would be our future.

On every forum/YT video I watch/listen in regards to AI, I end up posting _"I'm the Battlestar Galactica of AI - I won't connect with it/to it."_ No AI agents if given a choice to eliminate it or turn it off. I hope I'm not fighting a losing battle going uphill. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️📴🤖🖥️

i mean its just the trend to hate ai stuff. lets face it - we use ai, whether we like it or not. and it got better lately, i mean yeah, the idea to implement it everywhere is meh, but overall its useful tech.

Even if AI somehow becomes "trustworthy," the people behind it aren't.

For me, the real danger is that Google (and Nvidia said this too) wants to place it's AI between us and the world's information. Then it'll have total power to tell us what it thinks we should know and what we're allowed to do. It'll be a seamless censor, filtering and shaping everything we see to conform to what those in power want. It can even shape reality to fit an agenda. The photos of that peaceful demo you attended last year? Yeah, they're photos of a violent riot now and you're under arrest. You want to read a book called "1984?" There is no such book. You want a copy of the Declaration of Independence? Please verify you age to be able to access this information. AI is being shaped into the ultimate authoritarian tool.

Even when he's trying to position himself as critical of AI I get the vibe that Linus is just waiting for it to be good enough to replace people with and/or doesn't really care about the environmental effects these data centers are going to have on communities. How much power would it have taken to change day to night in that shot mentioned? How many hours of work that would have gone to enriching his fellow Canadians for the hard, skilled work they do would evaporate with AI assisting the video editing process? The second I learn about AI being used in lieu of humans at LTT I'm out.

They’re having to ‘advance’ to the next thing to keep the hype going in order to keep investors investing from fear of missing out on the next big thing. The truth is that AI has not turned over a profit for anyone. Not a single person has displayed how it’s transformed their work or company. Only that “it has transformed it”. We never see the results. Agentic AI is just a group of AI that does whatever without thinking. There’s no judgement of any kind. You let it take over your finances, emails, etc.. you won’t like the outcome. There’s plenty of stories where agentic AI ruined a department. If data set B is corrupt, then it means data set C and A are also corrupt. There’s no fixing the hallucination it has because it’s baked into the fundamentals of what AI is. Like I’ve told everyone else, get out of debt, save your money, and wait for investment opportunities to come because it will
