I moved to florida 25 years ago. I've lived in tampa, fort lauderdale and west palm beach. Here is my perspective on these locations. Yes, they are all fantastic places to visit. But there are some things you may not be considering... 1. Cayo Costa: Definitely worth the boat ride 2. Dry Tortugas: Too far & costly unless its a bucket list item. 3. Peanut Island: I go regularly. Its a DEFINITE must visit. Its packed on holiday weekends. 4. Egmont Key: not worth visiting, considering the fact that it sits just off the coast of one of the greatest beaches in the world, Siesta Key. 5. Boca Grande: Quiet spot, but most people hit Ft Myers for the restaurants and fun 6. Caladesi State Park: I've never heard of it... Will definitely check it out.
I'm a native Floridian, born and raised. I absolutely LOVE my beautiful state.🌴🏖🌊🦈🐋🐳🐠🦐☀✊🏽
So we have been to Cayo Costa many times. It’s everything the video said it was but I didn’t like that. He was showing pictures that weren’t Florida when doing the story on Cayo Costa. Just stick to the pictures of the place you’re talking about.
Most tourists don't want to spend time going to a beach with no hotels, restaurants or bars available and that they can't drive to so a lot of these places are mainly visited only by locals. Two of these are close to me and I travel a few times a year just for the peace and quiet.
I didn’t know AI could be so sassy. This guy said “make me a hidden Florida video but use every current catchphrase and make everyone feel attacked”.
We vacation in Florida at least twice a year. We stayed in Carlouel for a couple weeks and visited Caladesi(cal a DEE ze) State Park by kayaks. We also went by ferry from Dunedin. If you're able kayaking is the way to go. It was absolutely gorgeous. We've been to all the places except Dry Tortugas, never wanted to spend the price for the ferry as we have a quite large family. But the other places listed are definitely worth going to!!
The photo shown of Bungalows in the water when referencing Cayo Costa is a photo of somewhere else on this planet. 😂
Cato Costa is NOT situated between Sanibel and Captiva; rather it sits between Captiva and another amazing “billionaire bunker” - Gasparilla Island! Very special part of the world, let alone Southwest Florida!!!
Most people LOVE taking a boat to an island off Florida. Peanut Island is very well known, and it's usually very busy.
None of those places you mentioned let you live on just $2,500 a month in Florida – you'd need more.
I really liked how this showed that paradise doesn’t always mean leaving the country. I had no idea Florida was hiding places that look this unreal just a ferry ride away.
There are no mountains in Florida, as pictures show with beautiful beaches.
The most beautiful state! Love love it here ❤❤❤
You need to understand how geography works. You said the island is in between Sanibel and Captiva and then you show a map of it being north of both of the islands, doesn’t take a scientist to figure that out.
Lived in Dunedin my whole life. Caladesi is beautiful but it's a walk especially if you hace kids. You take a ferry then walk half a mile or it feels like it 😂 with a wagon and cooler and kids it can be daunting. The sand is so white it's blinding. Bring umbrellas there are none to rent and no shade. There is a nice little food shack with ice cream and cold beer though. Plan to spend a few hours to make it worth the trip of you bring family.
Great info. The running criticism of tourists not wanting to take a ferry, etc got tiresome. Too repetitive.
Problem: no public restrooms.
You will see dolphins, sea shells, turtles, but unlike this video, you won’t see any mountains
Bahia Honda in the keys. And plenty of gorgeous places everywhere in Florida.
