They laughed when Americans packed their bags and left. They said it was a mistake. They said we'd come crawling back. But today, a lot of those same people realize the U.S. is a hard life. In this video, I show my boring life living abroad, for a better quality of life, lower living costs, and opportunities they never thought possible. From skyrocketing housing prices and rising everyday expenses to the search for a lifestyle that feels less stressful and more rewarding, the look has changed. This isn't about hating America. It's about a better life. Whether you're thinking about moving abroad, already living overseas, or simply wondering why this trend keeps growing, this video is for you. What do you think? Are people overreacting, or is the world changing faster than many expected? When gas prices go down, will you feel life is better overall?
Currently selling off the last of my things. Like you, I got the house in the divorce and fortunately it made me a few bucks. At 44 I find myself single, no job, no kids, no parents and a passport with no stamps… first stop Philippines in July. One of my partners ( run a nonprofit) was given the boot and had to go back, so I figured I’d take advantage of having a local and explore the islands before moving on to Thailand and the neighboring countries. Love the content, Thailand brought me but you keep me!
Your channel is going to grow big soon, because it's so different from others. I'm addicted to it.
Us travelers were ahead of the game! They laughed at us thought we were crazy now they are copying us and not apologizing nor saying we were right
Dude unless you’re old and have retirement checks you physically cannot live abroad unless you have sustainable online work which is almost impossible. Not to mention if you’re younger too you absolutely cannot live in Thailand when you’re only getting 30 days tourist visa soon… And retirement visa is a very expensive thing.
I need me a Polly!😂😂
It took 5 very difficult months, but I did it. After pres Chucky was elected I snapped. I sold my condo, my truck, gave away my cats, donated everything I owned to goodwill, moved in with friends, resigned the best paying teaching contract of my career, and moved to Mauritius (southern hemisphere). Ive been here a year. I'm starting to relax...
I use to live all around South East Asia for a while. I rage quit it after about 10 years. The Honeymoon is awesome. All honeymoons are but doesn't last forever. Other channels give more realistic view and expectation of life in SE Asia.
I could be wrong, but I don't know if the good times are going to last for years. I have seen way to many videos of westerners talking about how much (or little) it cost them to live in places like SE Asia, Africa, Southern Europe, parts of Latin American, etc. In their minds, they aren't spending much and love it. But to the locals, it is a lot and the westerners are making things more expensive and the locals are grumbling....some even protesting. Some of these westerners are spending more money on rent or mortgage per month in so called "low cost" countries than I spend on my monthly mortgage on my house in California (although I bought during a housing crash in 2009...but still). Through the years of traveling all over on 6 continents, I have seen places that were once very inexpensive that are now beginning to have western prices while the incomes of the locals haven't gone up much. I've been in places lately where I don't know how the locals are even making it.
Wait till they find out what happens if you try to live illegally in another country.
When women in the U.S. talk bad about men coming to other countries, we just say thank you.
I heard that a lot before I left, now those same people are asking me how to leave.
I'm well traveled all over Southeast Asia Don't move to any Southeast Asia country without visiting at lease 4 to 5 times "Period"
