In this video I travel to Dubai to explore a side of the city that most tourists never see. Dubai is famous for its luxury, skyscrapers and incredible wealth. But I wanted to understand who actually built the city and what life is like for the thousands of workers behind the scenes. During my time there, I spoke with construction workers, locals and people living in the worker districts. I visited the areas where many of the people who build Dubai live and tried to understand their daily lives and experiences. Seeing these places gave me a completely different perspective on the city. The contrast between the famous skyline and everyday life in other parts of Dubai is something that surprised me. While filming, unexpected events also unfolded in the region as tensions rose in the Middle East, which influenced the atmosphere during my trip. This video is not about judging โ itโs about showing the full picture of Dubai, beyond the luxury hotels and tourist attractions. Watch until the end to see what I discovered. Heel goed dat je dit gefilmd hebt zeg! Ik heb drie jaar part time in Dubai gewoont en dit is inderdaad verschrikkelijk. Die werkers zijn niet gelukkig. Plegen regelmatig zelfmoord. Met eigen ogen gezien. Reisdocumenten worden in beslag genomen. Kunnen geen kant op.
Ik volg jou al een tijdje en vind het geweldig wat je doet. Je laat de realiteit van verschillende steden zien. Altijd respectvol naar andere en niet bang om voor jezelf op te komen. Jij bent niet zomaar een influencers, maar een echte journalist met ballen. Blijf vooral doorgaan, mijn support heb je. Jij bent het wel waard om geld te krijgen van mij. Ben nu lid geworden.

I live in the gulf for work and this is honestly a very good insight about not only Dubai, but the whole gulf region. Honestly, I think these guys in Dubai are better paid compared to the guys that are in the other parts of the gulf. Another thing is that if these companies see their workers openly giving you information such as their salaries and living conditions or what not, theyโd probably get fired and deported back home. So much respect for these humble guys who have left their homelands to earn a living in such conditions.
