I modded my PS3 just to be able to play Red Dead Redemption. But when it was released on PC I thought I couldn't transfer my save file. But there actually was! I just had to do 4 hours of troubleshooting with 4 different apps to get it to work.

HOW I DID THIS: Plug a FAT32-formatted USB drive into the PS3. Go to Saved Data Utility (PS3), locate your Red Dead Redemption save, press Triangle, and select Copy to the USB. Connect the USB to your PC. Download and open Bruteforce Save Data. Point the application to your PS3 save folder on the USB (typically starting with BLUS or BLES). Click Decrypt PFD to remove the encryption. Download the Red Dead Redemption Save Editor by XB36Hazard. Open your decrypted PS3 save file within the editor. Change the target platform to PC (if the PC option is missing in your specific build of the editor, select PS4/Nintendo Switch, as the modern ports utilize the exact same file structure). Save the newly converted file. • Load the Save on PC Open your PC save directory located at: Documents|Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption\Profiles\[Your Profile ID|\ Move your converted save file into this folder. Launch the game and load the file. My biggest issue was BruteForce not decrypting properly. I had to then download RPCS3 and a Red Dead Redemption iso, play it until it saved the file, download Apollo save tool homebrew, swap the RPCS3 save file with the one from my PS3, then decrypt it inside Apollo. I DONT KNOW IF THERE ARE OTHER GAMES THAT CAN DO THIS Don’t ask me for help cause I just followed directions and don’t know anything.

These types of shorts are great cause many people don't know things like save file converters exist. I did the same thing for Persona 4 Golden when it finally released on PC after I already bought a Vita just to play that game.

Tbh, the PS3 gave ne the second best memories, and also gave me the closest experience of a Wii(u) since it had those joycons that never came back on PS4
